The Department of Radiology, Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University is the center for teaching education and research center of medical imaging in the North Jiangsu and Huaihai Economic Zone. It is the key clinical specialty of Jiangsu Province and the deputy director of the Jiangsu Institute of Radiology. There are 99 professionals and technicians, including 6 professors/chief physicians, 9 associate professors/vice-chief physicians, and 3 senior engineers. 11 fellows received their Ph.D. degrees and 35 received their master's degree. There is one fellow served as the chairman, and other one as the vice chairman of the Provincial Association. Also, 14 fellows served as the member of the Provincial Academy or academic group. Department of Radiology is equipped with a complete set of advanced digital imaging equipment, including one 128-layer PET-CT/MR, one 10MH medical cyclotron, 7 MR scanners (including four 3.0T MRI ), nine multi-slice spiral CT scanners (including two dual-source CT, two 256-slice CT), twelve flat-panel digital X-ray machines, two digital gastrointestinal machines and one dental C-CT scanner. Almost 1 million examinations were performed in this department each year. The department is far ahead in the area of scientific research achievements and new technologies development in the city and surrounding regions. In recent years, more than 200 academic papers have been published, including more than 30 SCI papers. Several projects have been funded by the NSFC and the provincial/ministerial department. The research interests focus on molecular imaging, functional brain imaging and Budd Chiari syndrome.
