The First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin Medical University (Tianjin Medical University General Hospital) was founded in 1946 and it was one of the five central hospitals in China then. When it was set up, well-known medical experts at home and abroad gathered together from Peking Union Hospital, Qilu Medical College, Liaoning Medical College, Guiyang Medical College as well as influential medical families. After more than 60 years of development, it has become the largest comprehensive university hospital in Tianjin, encompassing medical treatment, teaching, research and prevention. It is also a Level 3, Grade A hospital, and one of the Nation’s 100 Top Hospitals. It acts as the Western Medical Center of Tianjin.
